Archana hails from Senthaneerpuram, an urban slum in the heart of Tiruchirappalli city. Her parents were Daily wage workers who toil hard every day to ensure a square meal for the family. In 1999 'Archana' aged 3, was enrolled by her parents with the CDP centre, Ramamoorthy Nagar. She terms it the best period in her life, where she learned about basic life skills and social behaviour, maintaining personal hygiene, environment cleanliness, and others. The attitude and moral values sowed at the tender age had become the source of strength, and a motivated Archana completed her B Com degree from a leading college in Trichy and learned English and Tamil typewriting. Now, she works as an instructor in a Typewriting institute at Kajapettai, Trichy, and earns a decent salary to look after her family. She remembers her childhood days spent at the daycare centre of PAT with gratitude and wishes for its continued services for the social transformation of personnel like her.
